The Challenge
The basketball court surrounds required a flooring system capable of handling constant foot traffic from athletes, staff and spectators while maintaining a professional appearance.
The system needed to clearly define the court surrounds, while remaining hard wearing enough to withstand cleaning regimes, equipment movement and ongoing wear. Minimising downtime for the facility was essential, requiring an efficient application and cure process.

The Solution
After reviewing the site and operational requirements, APC’s Ultra Flake® System was selected as the ideal flooring solution.
- The concrete substrate was mechanically prepared to remove contaminants and create a strong base for coating adhesion.
- The Ultra Flake® epoxy flooring system with Ultra Flake® Highlights was applied, producing a seamless, decorative finish.
- The floor was sealed with Sparta60®, providing a hard wearing, abrasion resistant and easy to maintain finish suitable for high traffic sporting environments.
The system provided a hard wearing, low maintenance solution, applied efficiently to allow the facility to return to use with minimal disruption.
