The Challenge
The project required a flooring system that could handle constant foot and paw traffic while maintaining a hygienic, easy to clean surface. With pets and staff moving through the space daily, durability and safety were top priorities. The finish also needed to align with the store’s bright and welcoming aesthetic, complementing the brand colours without drawing focus away from the retail environment. The client sought a system that could be applied with minimal odour or disruption to trading hours.

The Solution
After assessing the project requirements, the chosen system was APC’s Liquathane® from the Cut and Coat range.
- The existing surface was mechanically prepared to achieve a clean and receptive surface.
- Liquathane®, a 2-pack water based clear urethane, was applied to deliver a semi-gloss, seamless finish.
- Its low odour and solvent-free composition made it ideal for use in an active retail environment.
The system was applied efficiently, ensuring strong adhesion to the concrete and long lasting performance suited to Petbarn’s high traffic conditions.
